Planning checklist
Prepare the facts a business network refresh decision needs.
Use this checklist to organize the current environment, business dependencies, risks, equipment, licensing, change windows, validation, rollback, and final records.
1. Scope and inventory
Name the reason, locations, owners, and current environment.
- State the risk, growth need, opening, move, support deadline, or operational change.
- List in-scope locations, closets, networks, systems, phases, owners, dates, and blackout periods.
- Collect circuits, equipment, software, ports, PoE, uplinks, wireless, licenses, support, and exports.
- Map phones, payment, cameras, access control, warehouse devices, VPNs, and other critical workflows.
2. Change control
Write the installation, test, and rollback path.
For each phase, identify staging, shipping, site access, labeling, equipment order, configuration, installer work, expected outage, remote access, test owners, checkpoints, and the rollback threshold.
Internet access alone does not prove that voice, payment, warehouse, remote access, printing, cameras, guest Wi-Fi, or inter-location workflows are operating as intended.

Refresh readiness checklist
Use this list to prepare a review, assign missing information, and make quote or project assumptions visible.
Business reason, success measure, scope, owners, target date, and blackout periods
Locations, circuits, backup service, addressing, carriers, closets, racks, and power
Firewall, switches, Wi-Fi, ports, PoE, uplinks, cabling, support, and configurations
Applications, devices, workflows, third parties, maintenance impact, and test owners
Equipment, licensing, accessories, shipping, installation, validation, and rollback
Final inventory, diagrams, backups, lifecycle dates, exceptions, and remaining work
Planning path
Move from available facts to a documented decision.
-
Mark known facts
Link answers to exports, photos, portals, invoices, diagrams, or owners.
-
Assign unknowns
Give missing information an owner and deadline before quoting or change.
-
Review dependencies
Check phases against systems, people, facilities, carriers, and installers.
-
Approve handoff
Confirm tests, exceptions, records, support boundaries, and remaining work.
